Let’s look at this a different way.
Let’s say for a moment that none of us care about Nixon one way or another and we’re looking at this ad based entirely on content and context. It’s not well produced, if there is a script it is certainly very subtly spoken, there are no threats, there are no promises, there is no gladiatorial chest pumping.
There is a man, speaking about an agenda he would like to make into reality. Something that at face value many would agree would help a lot of people in this country and around the world. Not juxtapose that to modern campaign ads where it looks like a mix between a UFC hype ad and a trailer for a blockbuster movie.

What I mean to say by all of this is that the dialogue that folks in politics used to mostly focus on was an idea of substantive issues that two people who respect and maybe even like each other to disagree on but with the idea that at the end of the day we would come together for the good of the country.

Now it’s a clown show. Eating dogs and dancing with Quavo. What a disgrace.
