Hoping my weeds will pull up easily after today's rain. We have caliche in Central Texas on which I have piled leaves and compost. The garden soil is gradually improving. Later this week we expect freezes, We remember last February's arctic storm that took down the entire electric grid, killing around 200 people and an unknown number of trees and plants. I'm a home gardener and marvel that farmers can take the stress of uncertain weather. 1

I invested in landscape fabric this year. I spent far too much time we weed ing kast year.... I still have trouble treating it like a farm, & not a garden!

Do you use overhead irrigation for the whole growth period? I see that drip irrigation is commonly used. Just wondering why you use this method?

Hi!! So you roll the fabric out, then put compost on top and then till and roll another piece down? Also, do you use the fabric for everything you plant and find that using the landscape fabric helps with weed maintenance? So many questions! Lol
