Even if they do grow, the varigated variety of the snake plant will produce a natural snake plant without the yellow edging . I waited 5 months just to see a basic snake plant pop up once .

I have a snake plant over 45 years old. Water very very well with good drainage when very dry . Good light source. It's hugh and has always been in the house. Feed now and then.

Thanks. I just bought a small snake plant or, as my mother called them "mother-in-law's tongue, " and I want to grow many. I used to have five. They bloomed for me twice. Their perfume is as strong as a gardenia. The flowers are tiny and white.

You can propagate it like this, but the new growth will lose the varigated yellow border stripe and revert back to natural form.

Plantei 1 folha, tem quase 1 ano não morreu mais tbm não nasceu, tá plantada na terra. Vou tirar e fazer isso pra ver se dá certo 🙏

The more I ignored mines the better they did Don’t water often like once a month and sun. I have the yellow edged ones like these. Pretty!

My family got tons of beautiful snake plants in the yard but we never propagate it. We just spread them out and leave it alone, and eventually, over time, more grows on its own. 😅

Why do you cut the notches in the bottom? Does that give more room for more roots to grow?

I always let mine callous over before potting them up first, otherwise you risk getting fungal infection.
