Frog fishing is some of the craziest topwater action you'll ever experience! The way a bass comes through cover to ambush a frog is unlike anything else in fishing! Knowing how to get those bites however, is a skill set that many anglers lack. Today we're covering everything you need to know about fishing hollow body frogs so you can start catching frog fish!

With all the frog designs on the market its hard to understand what they're all for, let alone which ones are worth the time and effort! Some frogs have amazing action and a great hookup ratio, while others will get bit but its hard to hook the bass. Sorting through all the different frogs is overwhelming, but we've done all the leg work so you can enjoy he results. In today's video Tim separates frogs into different categories, explains what each category is for, and shows his favorite baits for each scenario.

Below you'll find links to the exact frogs discussed in the video. We've sorted them by style, and included our favorite colors for each. We've also included our favorite frog rods and gear to help you be successful. All the links go directly to Tackle Warehouse where you can see detailed photos and descriptions of each item.

Thanks again Tim. Been bass fishing for years and frogging kicks my butt. I watch all frogging videos to no avail. I will keep trying. Take care.

It's the floating seeds from a cottonwood tree!!! Such a pain in the butt!!! Thanks for the tips can't wait to try them with my frogs!!

It’s always funny how short the videos are when Tim does them but if this was Matt rabbit whole and beyond would be in here with a hour or even longer video lol. Love the info and information in these videos.

I'm trying to decide whether Tim talking frogs or Matt talking jigs raises the Enthusiasm Bar higher. :-) Thanks, Tim! We love our frogs down here in Florida, and I thought you provided a great break-down of this extremely fun way to fish. Good luck out there everyone!

Booyah pad crasher jr. has been my favorite for a long time. Cheap, easy to walk, and solid hooks. Small enough for northern snakehead to eat easily, too.

Another great option for the straight retrieve category is the ZMan Hard Leg Frogz. Pretty much the same as the Spro Flappin Frog. Toss that sucker on a 5/0 EWG and you’re good to go. Even with a 5/0 EWG hook they float. Great option for those who prefer spinning gear but also want to go frogging, since you can just use a lighter gage hook. Get yourself a medium heavy or heavy spinning rod with a good aluminum bodied, 6 ratio spinning reel and you’re in business.

Just started throwing frogs. SUPER ADDICTING. What a great bite. I thought the Whopper Plopper Bite was Fun. Frogs are a whole different level of fun.

Great information Tim, your videos have greatly improved my bass fishing.

The cotton you were talking about on the water's surface are from the seed pods of the cottonwood tree. Where the cottonwoods are thick it can look like it's snowing when they open.

Give that 6th Sense frog rod a try. I got the 6’10. I fish a lot Ozark lakes and that short rod helps me skip docks and make short roll cast into lay down and other isolated cover.

I got my 7’3 Expride EH a while back and it’s an amazing frog rod. Got a solid 4 on the Bully Wa “Little Allen” yesterday. Following Matt and Tim has improved my angling skills and gotten me some very nice fish the past year. As a side note, picking up the IMX Pro 845 CB rod from their suggestion is the best purchase I’ve made. TB is legitimate.

I have that same exact combo for frogs! It's by far my favorite combo ever for frogs.

Black is my Go-To when it comes to froggin. I've thrown other colors with little to no luck but I'm always open to try others and there are some that I've seen more than just Matt and Tim smash them on so those will be added as soon as I get a new frog rod

My frog rig is a 7’3” mag-heavy, Dobyns Fury. Paired with an 8 ratio Daiwa Tatula Elite P/F spooled up with some 65lb Berkley X5. This braid has definitely become my favorite braided line. Having the 4 strands braided around a core keeps the line round and uniform. Stacks on the spool nicely and feels so good when broken in!

13 Fishing Trash Panda is a frog I don’t see talked about enough. If y’all haven’t checked them out you should definitely give them a shot. Good hookups with the turned up hooks but still super weedless. Has a popper and walker version but even the walker version has a really good pop/walk action and also makes a pretty good wake on straight retrieve

hey Tim I was wondering if you guys would make a video on HOOKSETS, I've been having a hard time lately remembering when to set the hook with worm fishing, I've been getting too many short strikes or I am not setting the hook in time, Id love to see a video going over hooksets for worm fishing, frog fishing (both ewg weedless horny toad or hollow body frogs) and jig hooksets PLEASE and THANK YOU PS Plus I think it would be an amazing video and something you guys haven't done yet.
