Congrats on that catch!! I just recently took my daughter (5yrs old) fishing just to go fishing. We went to this super small creek. We had zero/-0/-100% chance of catching anything and we caught 3!! using a small super bright green thing lure, on a toy story kid's fishing pole! Best core memory ever, even for me!

those top water frog baits are one of the best. my favorite is the Zara spook and senkos for throw in and reel

The people making fun of you probably don't even know how to fish a top bait, frog, popper, jitterbug ect you did exactly the right thing, by waiting till you felt tension on the line before setting the hook. These fools would have yanked it as soon as they saw the hit,
