A crash happened in my city from a thief with a stolen car not being chased. The problem is the criminals. Not the cops

Notice how everyone blames the police, but not the perps that started the chain reaction of events, and the perp being the one who hit her. Nobody in this video talking about ending crime.

This is what happens when you don't allow the police to do the simple police work, like arresting and jailing shoplifters that eventually move up to steal cars and carjacking's. This is what happens when judges let people out of jail with revolving doors. Criminals only get more brazen. But let's blame police chases.

She also ran the intersection. It's a two way. You are responsible for common sense. Cops aren't focused on speeding cyclists

no police pursuit after the criminals, then what do you suggest police officers should do to apprehend these criminals?I'm waiting.

so it is the polices fault the criminal decided to run from the police and chose a life of crime how about blame the damn criminal

"Violations on the truck are over 100" - that's the issue. Lock up repeat offenders - non enforcement means they just keep escalating

Garbage that needs to be found and thrown in jail for life

Its INSANE to say police shouldn’t pursue. How about blame the criminals that robbed the construction site, and didn’t pull over when the police witnessed the truck with covered plates.

Of course I feel sorry for the lost of life here but come on.... she didn't look before she crossed. She crossed like she's the only human living in this earth just like 95% of cyclist. I drive a School bus in New York City so I know what I'm talking about.

Police are not the problem. There are way too many criminals flooding our streets and not enough officers are given the proper resources to combat these criminals. Scooters have also become a problem in our city and officers have no way of catching them because these criminals dont obey the traffic laws, so they use scooters to go into the sidewalks and use the traffic laws against officers to escape preventing officers from making arrests. Give police the proper resources like police scooters and motorcycles to properly provide officers the tools they need to protect this city.

So the criminals will drive with extra care when not in pursuit? What nutty logic is this? How do drivers behave with or without being in a high speed pursuit? people speed no matter what, let’s chase and apprehend the drivers. They will either kill either now or later. Any drivers involved in a bicycle crash is not an accident, it’s negligence and they blame CYC for taking up the roads. Because being enclosed in a steel frame car is more dangerous than riding on 2 wheels. So says all drivers at cyclists. We’ll be sure to thank the criminals for giving bikers extra rights on the streets because the cops stopped chasing them as a grand gesture. Twisted logic at work

Wait how else are they supposed to to catch criminals there’s been police car chases since the dinosaurs roamed the earth

Has Alexa ever ridden a bike in the hood? Does she think that if police chases suddenly stop all drivers will magically comply?

People in general are getting on my nerves. Now when the cops don't do their jobs people complain. When they attempt to do their jobs people complain. Damned if they do. Damned if they don't. What's the point? That's why so many of them are leaving the force. Some of them can't afford the high rents in NYC anyway. So why bother to protect it? I used to love NYC. Now I feel like its going to hell in a handbasket. God help us. And condolences to that girl's family also

And to top it off, they didn't arrest them. Wow!

It's very irresponsible for police to pursue criminals for theft, burglary cases in crowded cities. It's not worth risking the lives of others. Condolences to the family and friends.

It was just better to not pursue the robbers, because the risk are so high when it is a city full of people.

Th is not L.A or Los Vegas, a car chase in NYC will always end badly for everyone! NYC does not have the road infrastructure to support this police tactic!
