Before we delve into the categories, let's first understand what a tornado is. A tornado is a rapidly rotating column of air that is in contact with both the surface of the Earth and a cumulonimbus cloud. This violent vortex of wind can reach incredible speeds, leaving a path of destruction in its wake.

Now, let's talk about the categories that classify tornadoes based on their intensity. The Enhanced Fujita (EF) Scale is the standard way of rating tornadoes, ranging from EF0 (weakest) to EF5 (strongest). Each category is determined by the estimated wind speed and damage caused by the tornado.

Tornado categories are a vital tool in understanding the power and destructiveness of these natural phenomena. Remember, it is crucial to stay informed and prepared in the face of these mighty twisters. Stay safe, and until next time, keep exploring the wonders of our world.

Here’s my scale of the different tornado ratings, number 6 EF0, EF0s are the babies of tornados, number 5 EF1, EF1s are the type of tornados that has temper tantrums bc there right next to the little weak, skinny jeans, toddler EF0 number 4 EF2s are the teens of tornados and are a little bit dangerous and are jealous of the much stronger EF3, EF4, EF5 number 3 EF3s can get revenge on people who harm the earth, like for a example the el Reno 2.6 miles wide tornado, it killed 4 storm chasers and killed a mother and a baby and many more, EF3 are much more dangerous tho and can pose a threat number 2 EF4s are like f*** you people imagine be the strongest you have ever seen 😈😈😈😈😈 number 1 EF5s are like I’m going to end the entire world and end your grandmas and children and your parents😈😈😈😈😈😈(TRI STATE TORNADO) if you read this entire comment then you are a giga Chad 👍👍👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎😎

Edit: this took a long time :(

Fun Fact: Back when the top two worlds strongest tornadoes were first classified, the F6 rating was applied to them, though the rating was removed and the two record holding tornadoes were demoted to F5’s, so in the past, there were 7 tornado categories, but the worst one was lost, though we still know of the ratings the top two strongest tornadoes had until they got demoted.
By the way the two were the original Tri-State Tornado, (occurred in the USA, March 18th, 1925), and the other one I could not find on google, but I did find the amount of F6 ratings there have been, and from what I found, it was two. (Google is my source for this).

Fact: Ted Fujita (The legend) made a 7th category for F6, called inconceivable damage, also the rating went from F0-F12 (Mach 1) this was later in 1970, a 1.6-1.7 mile wide tornado would spawn in Lubbock, Texas. The tornado had a preliminary rating of F6, another tornado in Xenia, Ohio in 1974 Early April, another tornado would destruct lots of portions, Ted Fujita both rated these as a Preliminary F6 rating, I mean the 1999 Bridge Creek—Moore and the 1925 Tri-State would be a F6, the 1999 Bridge Creek—Moore tornado had 300+ MPH and the 1925 Tri State had 200+ MPH but got F6 conditions, what NWS should rate a tornado a preliminary F6 is the 2011 Joplin, Missouri tornado, even though it had 200+ MPH it was the most devastating ever tornado, it also destructed a whole part of Joplin.

For non-Americans: EF stands for Enhanced Fujita scale that measures tornado’s monstrosity and enormity.
