I returned it today and switched to the full size MX Keys. I wanted the mini but found the layout too cramped. Especially arrows, escape button and the FN laptop style combo to access F1 - F12. Made loads of errors typing. Use case is regular office work, mail and excel

You can do all that special keys with combinations: emoji=cmd+ctrl+spacebar; screenshot=cmd+shift+4, etc. I have a custom shortcut for mic mute, so on, and so on.

This is whyI went with the Apple layout, The White... is more of a Grey-White

I prefer a traditional layout full size or a TKL with traditional layout. If you go smaller than that the key placements get moved around and it's a nightmare to re-learn.

after some deliberation, I chose keychron K3 instead of mx keys mini. keyboard size almost the same. it has home, end, pgdown, pgup and full size arrow keys, also you can use bluetooth up to 3 devices, or use type c cable. and you have switch for OS specific like macOS or Windows. it's also mechanical with hot-swappable switches. it's the best choice for me.

I have 2 magic keyboards and was looking at buying mx mini to use with my mx3 mouse with unifying receiver hooked to a kvm. Instead I just ended up plugging my lightning cable into the keyboard and kvm and everything works perfectly. Only issue is now I have cables everywhere with the kvm setup :(

As some who uses Bios occasionally and sometimes boots Linux with grub etc, no wired connection is a deal breaker. Too bad

Lovely review but that Java C# joke got me rolling on the ground. 🤣🤣🤣
Which keyboard do you prefer to use, as I am in the process of changing my full size mech - the mx keys or the mini?
What I don't like about full size keyboards is the ergonomics - the mouse goes way off center. I use it for coding and emailing.

What about the sound? Does it make a loud noice when you type (comparing to the Apple keyboard)?

Sir, I'm planning to purchase this. Coz I love the form factor and the aesthetic design of this. The only reason why I'm holding back is a confirmation on this. As a SysAd, I am using the INS, DEL, END, PAGE DOWN and PAGE UP. Can you help me Sir to confirm this?

PAGE DOWN = FN + ARROW DOWN???
PAGE UP = FN + ARROW UP???
DEL = I can see there is already a dedicated
INS = ???
END = ???

Thank you Sir in advance and I hope your positive feedback on this.

I’m wondering - you wanted to mitigate the pain from typing on magic keyobard and ultimately, improve the ergonomics but still I can see a magic mouse on your desk. No problems with that one? I must admit, I love these gestures and all but the tracking precision was a complete disaster.

1:25 This is also the reason that a 60%/Mini board is the best for programming. (Provided that the board has good ergonomics provided by the placement of that fn-key and layout of the fn-layer.) Because the arrow keys, home and end are right there on the home row. You don't need to move your hand off the home row to access them. Instead just press a modifier, which is much faster once you get used to it, and much more comfortable.

Nice video. Did you get the text to speech key working. Am struggling to get it to work with MacBook pro M1 on 32" monitor.

Do the FN+keys work on fullsize mx keys as well?

I returned mine for the exact same reason and this impacts all Logitech keyboards fortunately! Fn+arrows is critical for me. If this bothers you too, how did you get used to it on the full size mx keys?

why in the hell do they not make a black mac specific mini

I don’t like it because there is no option to remap upper row buttons and use remapped functions on iPad, I can remap functions on Mac but remapped functions work only while I’m using mac, when I switch to iPad only default functions are available for use on iPad
