I've noticed over the years, whenever you NOTICE the price of a PC part slowing down, you have a matter of days to take advantage before a manufacturing plant "catches fire" or "has a flood"

I wonder what these prices will look like on Black Friday? They are certainly going in the right direction and I'll be making some purchases soon. Thanks for the update, Craig.

Thanks for a great video Craig. I just bought the Acasis TBU405Pro enclosure and plan to buy that WD Black 2TB SN770 in a couple weeks. Both purchases were guided by your vids. I REALLY appreciate your efforts. I'm not an Apple guy but your vids often cross over. I have two Thunderbolt 4 ports in my HP Envy PC laptop and am curious if I can approach 3GB/sec like I've seen you achieve. One of my hobbies is building and flying drones so I process a lot of 4K video. The above setup should be perfect for me. I'll be in it about $220 for 2TB plus enclosure. Thanks again for producing content that I find interesting, informative, and entertaining.

Good lord, $300 for a 4TB sata SSD? About 18 month ago i upgraded my old gaming rig from a 1T sata to 4T samsung 870 qvo for about $140-ish, of cause that was a "special birthday deal" but still i expected the prices to go down. Espcially as all other pc hardware seem to have been plummeting in price.

I got a crucial T500 2tb last Black Friday for $101 and haven’t seen anything close all year including prime day. Glad prices are going back down but will wait till the next Black Friday around the corner.

nice, always good to see trending down. I do want a lighter 4tb setup for backups to replace my external hdd.

thankfully prices are coming down, perhaps the time of year - better to buy in the fall as opposed to summer

I just bought a Crucial P3 Plus M.2 for 60$ (1TB/Gen 4) warranty 5yr, free ship. The 500GB one was less than 20$ difference
for comparison back in 2019 I bought a 2.5in SATA SSD WD Blue 500GB for 55$

I buy Samsung T7s, the regular T7 whenever it’s on huge sales. They’re not the fastest 10gbps drive in the world, but they don’t run crazily hot, they’re way cooler than DIY built ones, mainly because they don’t have a separate controller board which the DIY ones have, so they generate less heat. Even pre-built SATA portable SSDs, like the Samsung T5s and Sandisk Extremes, they run hotter because they are actually using converter boards inside too. The newer T7 Shield and T9 are not interesting to me, T7 regular is already pretty tough, and the additional rubber casing might trap more heat inside, which was the case for my Sandisk Extreme.

Just bumped into this video looking for a good ssd for my laptop. Is sm770 a good choice in my case? I need it to run cool, speed is not a problem considering that i have a gen3 compatible motherboard so it exceeds the max speed supported by a lot
