Ben Shapiro responded to Candace Owens's cryptic Tweet by saying: "Candace, if you feel that taking money from The Daily Wire somehow comes between you and God, by all means quit." Owens responded by saying: "You have been acting unprofessional and emotionally unhinged for weeks now...but you cross a certain line when you come for scripture and read yourself into it. I will not tolerate it."

To be fair, Ben wrote an opinion piece called "Arab civilian casualties are fine by me" circa 2002, suggesting the idea of aerially bombing the entire Middle East to "spare American infantry" instead of thinly veiled bloodlust to kill every brown person within a thousand miles of Israel.

So the idea of Ben froothing at the mouth more than usual with the vindicating wet dream of carpet bombing the entire Gaza strip is not that surprising for me

I don't think Shapiro has the authority at this point to fire her! They are colleagues! According to her via her interview with Tucker Carlson he is not her boss. From a quick search, it appears Shapiro stepped down from his position as editor in chief in 2020 and is not the CEO of the Daily Wire. She claims the co-CEOs as her bosses, and claims to have a continuous positive relationship with them despite this not being her and Shapiros first disagreement. And also maintains a good relationship with her other colleagues. I have noticed that even since she said that plainly, even in reports of that very interview..that people keep referring to Shapiro as her boss or not mentioning that portion of the interview. I could be wrong I guess but there doesn't appear to be any evidence that I can find of that actually being the case in the present.
