Top 20 Windows Keyboard Shortcuts

Windows keyboard shortcuts for application navigation, content manipulation, file management and application control. Give the mouse a rest and work more efficiently! :)

Application switching can also be done with Win key + Tab.
Some of my favorites:
Alt + PrtSc for screenshot of only active window
Ctrl + Shift + N for new folder in explorer
F6 for highlighting the address bar
CTRL + Backspace or Del for removing whole words at a time or url delims
Shift + Right mouse button for an extended menu with the option for a command prompt in the current location. I also add extra applications to that menu in the registry.

If you do not mind, there are some I have learned and use very often... Ctrl+Insert for copy and Shift+ insert for paste... always worked for me. And thanks for those short cuts...

I'm old-school, I still use Alt+Ctrl+Del to get to Task Manager.

Great video, there were a few in here I didn't know about. Some more common and useful shortcuts to know are Ctrl+N and Ctrl+W, and the ever important Ctrl+S.

I've used windows since 3.1 and even had to use 95 without a mouse for a long 3 months. I still managed to learn a few keyboard shortcuts from this video. Thanks for the excellent production quality and information quality as usual Chris. Keep the videos coming. :)

One that saves a lot of time for me is WindowsKey-Arrows to manipulate the window size and location. Automatically dock an application/window on the side of the screen, maximize, or minimize the window. Very useful with multiple monitors and many windows when used in conjunction with Alt-Tab and other application manipulation.

Wow, I've been using computers since I was 11-12 years old and I never actually put any time into researching shortcuts, I knew most of them, but still learned a few useful ones!

Good job on explaining text edition shortcuts.
They are terribly underrated, and yet make a huge difference when you manipulate text content.

Note however that ctrl + arrow/home/end also work on their own to move the text cursor (usually a vertical blinking bar).
And it makes sens since Shift only means "select text from where the (text) cursor was when shift was pressed to were the cursor will be when shift will be released" ; so shift can be combined with anything that allows to move the text cursor (including mouse move/click even).

I think I started getting into keyboard shortcuts hard in the late 90's to make time savings when doing design work when I worked at a printers.

Too much mouse moving and multi-clicking for various actions saw me eventually grab some books and various keyboard overlays and I'm glad I did it!

I was more for using CTRL, Shift + Z for redo on account of various programmes having it set that way and the proximity of pressing both CTRL + SHIFT with a single finger
