Check out part two of our new tutorial series, which shows you how to master volumetric fog by using CRYENGINE’s environment editor. Your host is our Learning Manager, Brian Dilg.

Learn every aspect of using volumetric fog, from its theoretical underpinnings and relationship to real-world atmosphere to fine-tuning voxelization through console variables.

The tutorial also compares the previous fog effect with the advantages that volumetric fog provides, showing you the parallels as well as the differences.

The tutorial goes on to explain the environment editor parameters, distinguishing between those that affect global fog from those that only affect local fog volumes.

Get up to speed by watching part one of this series, which gives you a broad overview of the environment editor’s features.
If you are completely new to CRYENGINE or game development, we recommend that you download our beginner’s course or watch the tutorial on our YouTube channel.

Nice, calming and very easy to understand voice. Your humor is on point but dry enough to not derail me from actually learning what you're talking about. Kudos.

These recent tutorials are really well made, perfect narration and voice, great writing and jokes. The explanations are well done and informative. Now if only all the cryengine tutorials were like this nobody would be confused on how to use this engine properly.

Finally, a really great tutorial relating to environment art. Would love to see tutorial on shadows distance and resolution in upcoming tutorials and also on Anti Aliasing settings. As most of these are set through console variables. It would be great if you can go over it. I really love that finally, tutorials are coming along for CryEngine. Thank you for all the effort being put into it.

I have no idea what is being said, but damn, CryEngine is nuts.

Wow I wonder how Cryengine handles volumetric fog and volumtric clouds at a far great performance in compare to unreal or unity

I *DARE* you to make a game that takes place on planet Zitchgorth!
With exceptionally juicy tomahtoes. And cheerful magenta fog.
