I learned how to make these back in 2009, made about five of them, then I forgot how over the years...so I'm VERY glad you posted this. My pillowcases from 2009-2010, are still in Excellent condition, no loose seams at all, no fraying. They're fun to make.

Don't cut the bottom and side off, just square up and sew as is. No need to waste that tiny bit of fabric and the pillowcase is a bit larger.

Suggest you cut the size--27" for standard, 30" for Queen and 33 " for king before sewing the cuff and trim. Also press the seams from the top, with the seam allowance to one side, then press together exposing the seam. much easier and neater than trying to get it open this way. Don't yo have a rotary cutter?

It’s the best magic pillowcase video I’ve seen. Very much to the point. Other videos do too much talking, mixing in irrelevant information. The music was much better. Just a suggestion: For demonstration, you should use a fabric for the band that has a difference between right and wrong side. someone new won't know which side is face up.
