A deeply divided United States is heading towards its election between President Donald Trump and his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, with polls showing many people are afraid of violence after their ballots are cast. DW’s Conflict Zone talks to Ken Cuccinelli, Acting Deputy Secretary for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Speaking to host Tim Sebastian from Washington D.C. with less than a month to go until Election Day, Cuccinelli said that at a federal level, "this is the most well protected election we’ve ever had."

Loved this interview. I've never seen a more politically biased line of questioning by Tim and I really enjoyed seeing him get shut down again and again. Tims angle is usually to get the interviewee on the back foot, looks like Tim was on the back foot most of the time here.

What a unprofessional civil servant...
In civilized countries they serve in their job under multiple different governments and are hired for their qualifications not by politicans or elected in.
And said civilized nations have more than two political parties with a government form where you don't have a single party holding pretty much all power after an election.
Instead victories and losses are partial with influence increased or decreased based on popularity, something that also means that there's actually incentives to work together as someone else's success doesn't automatically equal your own complete failure to get any of your own valued represented...

Cuccineli made a good point while completely ignorant of it’s inference; if intense questions by world media reflect questions by the DNC communications, doesn’t that validate those questions as both well reasoned and of serious concern for the state of American democracy?! If everyone else outside the US sees the importance of these questions, how can you claim it as partisan? Thank You DW, and others for the reality check against these prevaricating tyrants.
