1:12 Something I prefer to do is break it down into very simple shapes, then either freehand from looking at it, or if I am experimenting with coloring /shading just trace over it with other details (tho if ur learning (like I am) I don't really recommend doing that too much)

The back view being a copy paste side view with a few modifications was really helpful

i remember seeing once a tip saying that your characters should have accessories that show parts of their personalities or lives, as a way to show that they have lived a life before being created (or in some cases, haven't lived a life ;] )so yeah that's something i keep in mind though i havent made many ocs since hearing about it
