I've been editing for 4 years as a vlogger... unfortunately, this is too complex for a beginner. Most beginners won't understand the concept of an Assets folder. Most beginners need help with the fundamentals of the software (i.e., workspace layout, how to cut/trim, add background music, adding text, basic transitions, export settings for YouTube, etc).

My biggest struggle with Premiere Pro is just getting started. It's such an intimidating program. It looks extremely complicated compared to what I'm used to editing with. But, during this quarantine I've been trying to learn the Adobe suite, in particular Photoshop and Premiere!

Getting organized is a huge thing. I do a weekly youtube video with an intro/exit. I find having a project folder already set up is an invaluable time saver. Copy, paste, rename. It not only helps when you start a project but when you archive it as well. Good tips, thanks for sharing!

literally the hardest part is getting started i see all these videos that dont even explain the bare minimum. like i have no idea how to edit what so ever and i just wanna get into it, but im finding it very difficult to grasp.

I have been using "Nero Video" for years and I can't do what I want with it. I bought Premier a week ago and have been watching YT vids on it as well as Skillshare classes 'ad nauseam' ever since. This vid cleared up a LOT of confusion I've had. And for anyone new just think of the Assets folder as the toolbox of any mechanic. No matter what car he works on, the tools in the toolbox is what he uses every time. So no matter what movie project (Sequence in Premier speak) you are creating, the Assets folder (toolbox) is where you go for your Intro, Outro, any favorite Special effects you create, etc. THAT'S ALL IT IS! And remember the letters in "depression" rearranged spell "I pressed on". So keep going! You WILL get this!

The biggest struggle for me was, aside from getting started, the multitude of work areas and sifting through the numerous buttons and options.
I thought figuring out everything myself was a good idea but you just proved that simplifying things is the way to go!
