I just saw this, and I am thinking about getting Luminar Flex. I found it very informative.

What's the difference between FLEX and Luminar 4 (with the plugin)? If I pre-ordered L4, why do I need Flex and is that an extra cost?

I own Luminar 3 but as I have become a more advanced Photoshop user, I do 99% of my post processing with ACR and Photoshop. I just downloaded Flex to see what it can offer and it seems to be ACR by Skylum. I don't mean to criticize or demean the product but from watching this video and others on the use of Flex as a plug in for Photoshop I am not sure what it offers that I can't do in ACR. I don't use Lightroom so I am not interested in how Flex might work as a plug in for Lightroom. Curious however to hear that you can use plug ins with Lightroom. I don't think it would work with ACR. The ability to create actions using Flex is pretty amazing however. I can see making good use of that as I do create actions for my work.

If Skylum is as good as they should be, then change Flex to COPY Luminar settings rather than having US to do that (simple) task for YOU! As a 45-year software developer I can say with certainty "if it can be done by hand, it can be done WITH CODE". Get your act together on this!

very nice tutorial ! Where can we find "professional" looks ? i saw "analog" on marketplace but not creative, aerial. same stands for image aware workspace.

Why should we transfer a raw to Flex from Lightroom and come back with a tif ? For monthes we all ask Skylum, instead of working on lightroom import+dam+virtual copies, ..., to work first on raw develop core which is really poor with respect to Lightroom.
In lightroom i always start with "auto" which has improved a lot with sensei adobe algorithms (no auto in luminar while they have tools like accent ai, sky enhancer and photolemur doing that) and then i use a lot ALT key with black and white slider (ALT is buggy on win10) and drag histogram (histogram refreshes when slider is released). i multi click with eyedropper for the best white balance (one click in luminar). all things i can't do in luminar. moreover i took lot of pictures of monuments in washington trip and had only luminar on my laptop, not lightroom, and had no possibility to use perspective tools like guided upright, ... So, flex and luminar are for me a great tool with Accent AI, sky enhancer, tone>smart tone and adding gorgeous looks but i still need Lightroom for a long time I think when i see the skylum roadmap for next year.

I love that I CAN roundtrip from Lightroom to Photoshop to Luminar and back as a Smart Object. Unfortunately, it's not terribly practical. The TIFFs that come back have been up to 800MB.

I have both L3 with Libraries and Flex. Skylum is admitting that Luminar is not the Lightroom "killer" and that their library feature is not that good. Most LR users are not going to give up LR/PS for Luminar.

My biggest complaint with Luminar is the difficulty with moving the sliders because they are so short, and so sensitive. Lightroom's sliders are much better, and so are ON1's.
