First, I dive into a pickle buffet at Akoya Chaya, followed by a sweet stop at (THISIS)SHIZEN for an epic dessert. Next up is Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera Kyoto for an incredible conveyor belt sushi experience, before heading to Gochisou Yakimusubi Onimaru Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi to taste mouthwatering onigiri. I then enjoy a comforting traditional tofu hotpot at Yudofu Kisaki. Finally, after a 3-month wait, I get to try the famous pizza at Monk

I remember this guy not eating anything RAW, sashimi and sushi, in particular, to this. 😂👍🏻👍🏻

13:15 "Each bite you're just tasting that natural, delicious flavour of the tofu." So... nothing.

Only said Umami 8 times, that day was only an 8 out of 12 'average' Umami's for a Mike's Japanese Food Day.

Fact check: the main branch of Sushi Ginza Onodera has zero Michelin stars. In fact none of their restaurants have two Michelin stars. The branch in Los Angeles has one star and it's currently the only location which is starred.

if I ever get to go to Kyoto, Akoya Chaya will be some place I will have to check out myself. In my neck of the woods, the Kura Rotating Sushi I used to like has gone downhill a bit, sad to say, so I'll have to go to Kaiten Sushi to make up for that as well, and I am all about onigiri so the onigiri place is being added to the list, too! Good to see that the pizza was worth the wait, for that matter. I enjoy how Japanese restaurants get as creative as they do with their dishes and using local products!

Loved this, but I gotta admit the heavy breathing while you ate the tofu was a bit much 😂😂

Try Pizza Marumo in Ebisu. Much better and no need to wait for 3 months. 😂

Japanese food is lightly seasoned because they want you to taste the main flavor of the food.

Is it just me or did Mike sound like he came several times while eating at that sushi place? 😅
