I heard that a lot of the dogs actually got depressed over only finding dead bodies and not actually any survivors. Just shows dogs are just as, if not more emotional than humans. Just pure love and compassion with dogs.

God sent us those crazy furry angels and I thank Him for that every day.

And now those dogs are gone as well 😭
RIP to all the victims and all those brave heroes who tragically died saving lives 🙏🏼 Today we honor you, miss you and still love and remember all of you (even though I wasn’t alive yet when it happened)
Thank you for your service dear emergency responders ❤️ You are not forgotten 20 years on

We don’t deserve dogs. Period. They deserve better than what we can give them. Nothing will ever be enough for our furry companions

There was a Canadian police officer who worked with a dog named Trakr. When he heard about the attacks, he went straight to Ground Zero with Trakr, who immediately went to work. Trakr discovered the last survivor to be pulled from the wreckage. I bring him up because he was not at all given the hero's welcome he deserved when he returned to Halifax. In fact, his handler was placed on leave, then both were effectively fired after Trakr's handler prevented a policy from being enacted that would've had all retiring K9 units euthanized.

dog’s are legitimately angels… no intent, no lies, no hatred… they smile and all just want love.

I love that Brittany was also a reading dog!!! My daughter did her reading with a dog who visited at the library. She really enjoyed that, helped her through a rough year in grammar school, almost finished with college now. What a truly sweet dog with a wonderful spirit!

I volunteered at the trade tower from September 13th until the 17th I distinctly remember the German Shepherds and golden retriever dogs searching on the pile their paws were taped up forming little protective boots.
