I think it's interesting to note that while several squadrons of X-wings and A-wings were lost in the battle to take down the Super Star Destroyer... all three squadrons of N-1s emerged intact.

Captain Shack, in spite of the victory over the SSD things are starting to look extremely dire. Here is the breakdown of the last few weeks of fighting in the field.
1. Empire forces are starting to improve their training. We're facing special forces, heavy armored units with coordinated air units. New artillery platforms and tactics have proven to be deadly to both entire infantry groups as well as armor. We must figure out a strategy to avoid being bogged down in colonial styled trench battles of raw attrition. Maybe utilize overwhelming airpower and transportation to out maneuver their overwhelming ground power and arty.
2. Black Sun Forces are using up-armored industrial salvage compactors rigged with thermal lances to scour any battle lines and trenches of infantry, and so far the armor we're fielding can't put a dent in them and is being torn apart by their support droid units.
3. The hasty nature in which our logistic lines and infrastructure was thrown together may have gotten us a quick turnaround at the start of the war, but is now causing us an indescribable degree of faulty equipment, traffic jams both in and out of ports and shipment errors costing us weeks, if not months of time in proper manufacturing and transport that we do not have to spare.
A: Sectors that can be spared should immediately be converted for food production, with factories reconfigured for common civilian products, components, and luxuries to fund all aspects of the war.
B: All war production needs to be better organized and a more cohesive plan put in place. This goes for our training of recruits as well. We're in desperate need of both assault special force and armored battalions as well as regular infantry and support groups.
C: Someone up the chain needs to make a long term agreement with the shipwrights at Naboo. Those starfighter's may be old, but it cannot be stated enough just how much of an effect they have on the battlefield. being fast and maneuverable without sacrificing too much in the way of shields, and their lighter torpedoes make them a godsend in terms of a multi-role fighter to support both our mainline X-wings, interceptors, and heavy bombers. We need those production queue's full at all times, when ever possible.

We still have morale on our side for the time being with our last big string of victories, but as word on our more recent defeats get out things are going to turn quickly. We need to turn the balance, quickly. Maybe try and knock the Suns out of the war once and for all in the next few months?
There's also something...unsettling to report. Between both our own efforts and the Sun's. The Empire has been shown to be utterly incapable of ruling. Nepotism, greed and incompetence is being compensated for with unrestricted warcrimes and fear tactics. Even the easiest to run sectors that should be capable of self-sufficiency and booming prosperity are faltering. So far, this all sounds well and good for our cause, but I regret to report that it means we've been getting movement in the off-sectors of the Empire. Specifically, Corp Sec. There's always been rumors about the Emperor eventually putting out a decree to dissolve their self rule and regulation. While we doubt this would ever truly come to pass, our agents are reporting more movements in the region by the week. Some hubs as much as by the day, or even hour.
We need more concise and on the regular eyes on Corp Sec. Kyle Katarn is still being held in their prisons. And if their security forces do start punching their way out of the situation, We need to figure out fast what side of their battle lines we're going to be on.

Wish I had better news for you. But looks like running this war is only going to get harder, not easier for the time being. Goddess knows I sure miss the simpler days of sitting in a security station, monitoring private sec and life safety systems.

Shack you should build up kuat with in space. After you get a capital shipyard you can get a rebel SSD. You can use it to defend kuat which could lead to some cool battles. It is a lot of credits however.

This game would make a good base for a Pacific Theater game. Navy battles and island hopping.

Edit: I just remembered but doesn't Umbara let you build Umbaran starfighters? I don't know about ground vehicles and infantry but I could've sworn you can train squadrons of Umbaran fighters from the Clone Wars

I’m ashamed to say I’ve never faced an SSD as the rebels before (in AWOTR) since it’s so easy to either space rush (auto resolve memes) and blockade the entire empire, or just launch commando raids till half their territory is red

Seeing Shack fight an SSD really makes me think want to try a campaign where I hang back and wait as the rebels till the empire comes in with a good SSD + fleet
