Populist parties across Europe made big gains in the bloc's latest elections, dealing a big blow to centrist ruling parties. French President Emmanuel Macron has called for snap national elections in the wake of the loss. His centrist party secured just over 15% of votes, while far-right parties managed to win almost 40%. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz was also dealt a stunning defeat, as the far-right Alternative for Germany made solid gains, despite a string of scandals. Will Denselow reports from Brussels.
