438 days is like 14 1/2 months, not 13.

Typical CNN, his colleague died 4 MONTHS into the voyage, not 4 weeks.

It’s weird how quickly people just accepted this as fact without much skepticism. If some random guy showed up claiming he spent 13 months lost at sea, you’d think there’d be a bigger effort to verify it. The whole thing feels way too convenient—like a movie script that people just accepted without questioning.

The lack of severe weight loss alone is a huge red flag. Someone barely surviving on fish and birds for over a year should look like a skeleton, not just a little malnourished. And since the entire story depends on his word, with no verifiable proof, it’s impossible to confirm.

At best, maybe he was lost at sea, but not for as long as he claimed. At worst, it’s a complete exaggeration, and he somehow ended up in the Marshall Islands under totally different circumstances. But yeah, I wouldn’t just accept it at face value. You’d think scientists and survival experts would’ve studied him like crazy to understand how the human body could endure that. Instead, it’s just “Yep, he survived. What a miracle!” and onto the next headline. Super sketchy.

How did he catch the turtles? How did he survive the ocean storms? And yeah, he obviously had a knife...

How he didn’t loose weight and body mass is questionable…

let's pretend he did kill the other man and eat him for the time he could with out the flesh going would that be classed as murder and illegal under the circumstances?

He likely ate his buddy. Don’t blame him.

He wouldn't look like that if he'd been adrift at 438 days?... Come on 🤔

his hair only grew a little long. At 438 days it should be twice as much. Something fishy about this story
