I love the new looks and would only buy the AWD version because of the 8 speed transmission. It funny you guys can not talk about driving impressions yet since they are on dealer lots to buy.

It really doesn't look too bad. Nice improvements all the way around. I especially like the expanded storage under-cover above the spare. Nice place to put all that stuff you always leave in like a jump-pack, some bungies, etc. Better than the raised platform in the 4Runner.

Only lower case gm could offer only ONE engine choice with CVT for FWD versions in one of their most high volume main stream mass market compact crossovers, which is absolutely ridiculous. Its missing a hybrid powertrain using a non turbo variant of its 2.0L engine, and a top end 2.0L turbo engine option. Otherwise its a very nice and attractive CUV that will standout in the marketplace, but one that will always be trailing the RAV4 and CRV because of its limited powertrain options. Now will lowercase gm lump both the ICE Equinox and Equinox EV sales together for bragging rights in the compact CUV segment? We'll see.

Thanks for the detailed review. My wife currently has a 2019 Equinox and thinking of upgrading in the spring to this exact version of the RS. I have a 2021 Trailblazer RS and love it! I'm about to check out your Activ video next.

Unless GM is hiding a hybrid model and just waiting to unveil it at the most dramatic moment, the RAV4 and CRV will still be eating this alive on the sales charts. Hell, even the Tucson and Sportage are taking away sales from the Equinox

GM is nailing it in the design department with these new cars! I'm not impressed with the powertrains. I tow with my 2011 terrain and it tows more then these new equinoxes and terrains. Those engines need to be revised!

Agreed with all. If these had a 200 hp engine they would outsell or at least compete with Toyota because it looks great. Toyota now with the 225 hp hybrid. Big difference. Come on GM. People want to love you. Let them.

GM needs to put the 2.0 back in it. That 1.5 is an absolute dog. Also the red interior accents are a deal breaker. Chevy has gone so far but once again just can’t finish 🤦‍♂️

I had the old Equinox as a rental and couldn’t wait to get out of it. The seats were horribly uncomfortable, it handled like a pig and was harsh and noisy. This thing better be much improved for nearly $40k for a base model. That sounds crazy. I would much rather have a Mazda CX-50 with a bulletproof non-turbo, AWD, and automatic for $5k less.

The title of your video led me to believe they might be offering a hybrid, which might have been remotely interested. I had a 2013 Volt which was a good car. Once again, it seems GM engineers had a great idea that the management and beancounters killed off and let the competition take the market.

The RAV4 hit it out of the park when it went to a Hybrid option. Can’t keep them on the lot and it’s a year wait to get one.
