qBittorrent Safely with built-in VPN on Unraid

Thank you for this tutorial—it really helped me a lot! I appreciate all your hard work. Just a quick tip: If a user is utilizing an SSD for the cache drive and selects it as the primary storage for new downloads, then selects the array as the secondary storage, this method would cause unnecessary write cycles on the SSD, shortening its lifespan as UNRAID's primary Cache drive. Or if the user decides to create the plex "Downloads" share on the array, this would prevent the parity and download disk from ever spinning down. In my opinion, it's smarter to use a 2.5" regular HDD for downloads and create a separate share using "Unassigned Devices" for PLEX downloads. Now I fully understand some people may not have room for this. I am running an optiplex 790 with a Dell H310 HBA SAS card installed with two SFF-8087 connectors with two separate Mini SAS to four (4) Sata connectors for a possible total of 8 drives. I am currently only utilizing six(five 4TB drives and 1TB Cache SSD drive) but will be adding a separate HDD for downloads. Thank you again for this tutorial, your time is appreciated!

Thanks for the video. I have been using PIA for over 4 years. I've had Unraid up for a while but always used windows for torrenting. now I don't have to use my windows vm for my torrents. :D

These files aren't showing up for me when I install the docker. I got the config file from my vpn but was the Qbittorent file where you edited the password supposed to be installed there?

Great video and incredibly straight forward! Just a question on an alternative setup. If I have BitTorrent from the linuxserver repository without built-in VPN, can I simply populate my VPN info in the Connection tab rather than modify the config file as you did?

Found the answer to my first question in the comments about verifying VPN connectivity.
Second question is: I'm using PIA also currently, does that by default utilize a kill switch if it disconnects?
I know the application installed on a workstation can be set to use a kill switch, just curious if the docker container will disconnect if PIA drops for any reason.

For some reason, when testing the torrent. for the entirety of the torrent download, i lost connection to the server (connection timed out). it came back after the torrent completed.

Are you able to advise how you find the PIA local locations? I contacted their support and they refused to assist saying they don't support wireguard and won't help with configurations.

Can someone clarify for me. I’m using proton with this. I read wirehaurd doesn’t need username and pw but then over on reddit someone acted like I was insane for thinking that. I’m having trouble getting access to the qbittorent ui. Wire guard is set up correctly and it’s pinging.

Awesome Tutorial! Love your video's. They have helped me out a lot. I had one question. Were you able to get any of the ARR apps to run through the container? Everytime I tried, it would lose connection to all the indexers and stop working.
