This is a mandatory book to read in Polish high schools for some time now. I never read books, but after reading the summary to just pass the test, i got so interested by the story I read the book in full. I do not regret!

This story (1984) is what made me realise the importance of a diverse vocabulary to communicate complex ideas. The removal of certain words can actually erase an intellectual concept altogether.

As a Russian, this is really concerning. There already were cases when children snitched on their parents for hating the government or the war with Ukraine. Their parents were punished
