I studied some at Blue Ox Millworks. He truly is a marvelous craftsman and I am so glad I got the opportunity to learn from him.

I have nothing but pure admiration and respect for Eric Hollenbeck. When you do something for a living that you love so much that a little piece of your soul goes into it, it is nothing short of miraculous. I can tell Mr. Hollenbeck has a very spiritual connection to the materials he works with, and I know he sees the hand of God in the trees. Thank you for bringing us the story of this truly incredible human being! And Mr. Hollenbeck---thank you for your service.

I met Eric decades ago when feeding the houseless in Eureka. Some friends and I rebuilt a stall floor for his two oxen. Yes, they were hues of blue. The floor was made of redwood 4x10s and twelves. It was heavy lifting all day. The oxen just watched us. They are as big as the biggest buffalo. I made a nail on a forge. Took me 12 minutes. It’s great to see his work appreciated like this. The significance of Eric’s presence in Eureka is hard to overstate. Bring your bike, ride in, look around, and buy him dinner. There’s no one else doing what he’s doing. You’ll be amazed.

I am a so enthralled with this Documentary, yes this recording of our history preserves the rich experiences of trees, wood, creating art that only Eric, Cesar, and the family can accomplish. I am a woodworker, tool enthusiast, and love this creation

This brings back precious memories of the time I spent in Humboldt county. Much of my family is from there and I lived there, met and married my wife there. It will always be my home regardless of where I happen to be living. As much time as I spent in Eureka, I had never heard of Blue Ox Millworks until seeing the show on Magnolia Network. Thank you Magnolia, I will be planning on touring Blue Ox this summer.

As a woodworker myself, I just happened upon this show by accident, and it immediately stoked my interest. Iv'e only seen part of one episode, but this may be the best show about actual woodworking and restoration that has ever been done. The host has the right personality for the show and also the experience and skills. Unlike a lot of the countless shows of related subject matter, this one doesn't seem to rely on gimmicks and drama and schtick to create interest. It focuses on the work, which is refreshing. Some of the backround locations in and around California are interesting and beautiful. This looks like it will be must see TV for me.

We saw this on the original Magnolia Network and really enjoyed his craftsmanship watching him and his family restore a trolly car.
