It would have been interesting if they did a “blind” comparison. So neither would know which TV was the Hisense and which was the LG and then compare. Sometimes I feel like from just knowing when something is an expensive product we get it in our heads that it’s just better regardless just because of the price or brand.

I wish this had been a blind test, can't help wondering if decisions were influenced by the knowledge of price .

Too bad they didn't compare the LG with the Hisense U8H. It would have been more of a competition.

Quite amazing that the expensive TV is better than the cheap one.

I mean 1 the hisense should have been half ass calibrated ( as default setting usually suck on budget tv) at least put it in movie mode or something...
The other is while I don't doubt the Hisense would still lose...
I think it's amazing how far TV's have come in the last 10 years or so....
The fact the you can take a TV that cost less than half the other and have pros struggle to tell the difference tells you the budget TV will be enough for most people...

Now go in the settings and try to make the saturation alike. I suspect difference will be very limited.

It's the law of diminishing returns working well as usual. The Hisense gives you 90% of what you get with the LG for 40% of the money.

I just bought U8H, , , , after comparing to OLED everything at STORE… its a Winner. My eyes dont lie. Spects are deceiving. Love it.

I think the comparison should have been between an OLED or QLED and the budget TV to really see the difference about premium and budget TVs.

I just bought a 43’’ Hisense TV for the bedroom and I’m impressed to be honest. £239 and had it up against my £2, 400 LG 55” in the living room and wouldn’t say my LG is worth 10x the price. I would say the LG would stand out when slamming a PS5 in beast mode through it, but everyday TV - you can’t see much of a difference.

That time when 32 inch tv’s were the biggest craze.

Both these tv`s were straight from the box, i don`t know about anyone else, but i have never bought a tv in my life and left it at the factory default settings. You tweak the settings to your prefered viewing pleasure.
This test would have been farer, and would have shown different results(i`m certain of it), if the prices and Brands were kept hidden. Maybe then the poor Hisense would have not have been so badly beaten up by the 2 viewers(i`m certain of that too)😋👍

I'm an owner of a 100" Hisense u76. Incredible image quality. Paid $1999 usd on sale.

I think this is somewhat of a misnomer. The LG is £1800 and the Hisense is one of their lowest models and costs less than £749. Considering the price gradient, I’d say the Hisense did very well, and punched above its price point.

If you really want to be fair, aim the Hisense U7H or U8H against the LG, they come in between £1000-1200 and have all the same features that the LG has. That would be a reasonable comparison, as this is the equivalent of comparing a Lexus UX to a Dacia Sandero.

I have a small dark living room & buy the 2020 Hisense 58" $279 USD model. 58" is the largest I can fit.
However, it only last about 1 to 2yrs. Then the Backlighting goes out.
We've had 4 in the family & all had the Backlighting go out. You'll hear a buzzing sound & the screen gets darker & darker.
My 3rd one is about to go out & I'm thinking of paying a $100 more at $379 by getting the Hisense 55" U6GR.
The Hisense TV'S have the loudest & clearest Speakers of all TV's I've seen or heard. So loud & crisp.
Even louder than my neighbors $6000 Curved Screen 75" Samsung.
That's a beautiful TV that they've had for years & it still looks brand-new while I've already paid for 3 $279 58" Hisense TV'S.
I think I'm going to get the U8H or the U6GR 55"

I've seen some reviews if the Hisense and you need to tinker with the options.

You must compare TV models with similar dimensions and price ranges. If Hisense were to offer a TV priced at £749, they could potentially outperform LG, given their ability to produce a high-quality TV at half the cost. Imagine the possibilities if they were to compete directly with major brands by matching their prices. Hisense lowered its prices to cater to consumers who may not be as concerned with the finer technical specifications.

They didn't go to settings and fix it accordingly for example for lg sound the default is standard mode ..u should change it to ai pro people🥲🤌and the image setting there's a lot (rly plenty) to lower and increase according to yur tv, some needs to be turned off as well

I bought the 75" Hisense for $448 US each That comes out to $372. For the price I couldn't pass them up so I bought two of them. One for living room and one for my bedroom.
