For hunters in the mid, since u said some of the items have been nerfed,   what would be the best alternatives, say like Transcendence for example. What would it replace in the typical build?

Gonna join the "No stacking?" club. I would go for thoth instead of ethereal, really. You don't have to be hit for the tankyness to concern you. What if you are thoth? So it comes down to what scales better late game and how fed you are, and I think book wins in both of these.

Just a question, would you not consider running book of thoth or spear of desolation on a mid mage? the two items just seem really good on a mid to pass up lol
