I remember this from “The Most Extreme” on animal planet from when I was kid. Apparently the parasite when picked up by humans (it transmits through poop, be veryyyy careful handling litter) can make us a bit less observant. In the show they found this increased the likelihood of someone getting into a car wreck as a result
