understand that Eliud has great genes & works hard, but he has extreme mental toughness average runner would have to be willing die to even come close to competing

you should have mentioned the extreme mental toughness it takes to compete at this level, it really is what seperates great runners from the good ones

I have a hard time believing a Nike sponsored athlete from a poverty ridden country with fellow countrymen being caught for PED usage, could do this without the aid of PEDs. Nike values profit over human rights. I do not want to take anything away from this accomplishment, I want to raise awareness that upper echelon athletes of the world do not get there from hardwork and genetics. I'm all for the use of PEDs but let's not lie to ourselves.

It's actually not true that lactate burns nor is it true it makes you feel crummy...your body can reuptake lactate and use it as fuel but there is a point where is builds up faster than the body can clear it

I learned a lot from this video. I didn’t realize how much goes into marathons and other running events. I thought you just trained your endurance and that was it. I knew about basic biology aerobic and anaerobic respiration, but I didn’t know how that applied to marathoners.

What we human can do can surprise us . I think you know survival for the fittest we adapt quickly and I knew he will beat it metally we can travel anywhere while sitting on our coach or concentrate on something in our utopia while doing something . Physically yes this win is mentally concentrated on

Sorry doc, but you got it wrong. All your theories are good to know, but the main reason he was able to run that fast was the new Nike AlphaFly which has 3 carbon plates and other crazy things. Kipchoge couldn't break 2:03 without the new Nike carbon shoes.

For every glucose molecule, 36 ATP is produced. 2 through Glycolysis. 2 through the Kreb Cycle, and 32 through the Electron Transport Chain (ETC).
