I love the addition of videos to your podcasts. I second the motion on the chair. Here out on the East coast, we use the sit pad ON the chair during the winter so we don't get cold butt as we sit around the fire.
I think the Swiss army knife is an esstial piece of gear as well. I have one on my pack, one in my car and one as an edc.

Awesome how Jared pointed out Carl saying “bear food” right after Carl talked about using the rope to tie up the bad guy one encounters on the trail. 😆

I hope that's not Jared's current trail shoe, there is literally no tread left 😆

Whose tips were better? Clearly Carl’s! No, Jared’s! Actually, Carl’s. Eh, wait, Jared’s. Carl’s. Jared’s. All right, if you’re reading this comment, you’d better watch the vid. & decide for yourself. Be sure to let me know what you decide. 💪🏼🏈

Time for me to be a villain boys: this win goes to Jared, but barely!
Really? A lighter?! Shoes?! Come on guys... is that the BEST you can do?! **insert evil maniacal laughter** 😈
That's almost like me saying "an underrated piece of gear every newbie backpacker should bring is a backpack!"

Here's what a REAL underated Newbie list looks like:
- an inflatable pillow. Stop stuffing stinky clothes into a stuff sack and bring an actual pillow and sleep like a real man (or woman)!
- Camp Shoes and/or socks & sandals. Yes they're extra weight. Sure you could ditch them to be a gram-weenie, but you're not a gram weenie, you're a newbie and you'll be thankful you brought them. Trust me.
- 5 cent candies / Dessert: This is not the time to be counting calories or watching the waist-line. You're in the backcountry for gosh darn-it, eat the sweets! You'll be thankful you didn't cut the added-weight when that late-night or mid-trail sugar craving hits!

Now pick up your game Backpacking a Blisters! And keep making great content! 😄
I hope I get points for being your first "angry/mean comment" 😜

Keep Moving Forward!
