I think a lot of people are going to get a lot out of this! Sooo many outdoor brands have been on the ‘outdoor access for all’ bandwagon for the past few years, all while continuing to sell product at a price point that’s largely inaccessible for a lot of the audience they seem to be pandering to. You nailed this video and it’s core concept. I really hope this gets more people outside! Cheers.

Budget camping is how everyone should start! Get outdoors and slowly upgrade the setup as you go. I think sometimes people on youtube think you woke up with a blank check and forget you've been working and gaining income this whole time to upgrade your hobby. It comes with time! looking forward to the next video and thanks for the fire content!

I'm a retired pastor on disability and just want you to know I enjoy what you do. I'm slowly putting a bag together.

This was such a good video- lately I’ve been feeling very uninspired, caught up in the day-to-day routine. But I’m feeling hungry to get back outside, even if it’s in a $20 Walmart tent, and just be in nature for a night. Thank Talon 🙌🏼

Back in 1978 I was stationed in San Antonio, TX. One weekend I just got a urge to go to the coast and camp on the beach. I took off in my Jeep, with my wife, and we headed on out to Padre Island. When we got there we realized that we didn't have any equipment...oops. We bought two inexpensive sleeping bags, went to the beach and zipped them up together. We spent the night under the stars with nature all around us (except for the other 30 people there). A patrol would slowly go around checking on people and shine lights out over the beach and "campers". Man, that was a cool time. We didn't need money, just each other.
Thank you for this memory. I hadn't thought about it for a long time. I don't even remember the last time I just picked up and found out what's out there.

we always need more videos like this. I suspect a lot of people never get to experience "getting out there" because they figure you need a huge budget or there is so much they'll "get wrong". Great way to encourage new peiple to dive in!!

I’m an ex backpacker and when I watch your videos I think wow! this is luxury camping. I’ll pitch a tent, in the winter snow, fall in Alaska, spring and summer in the Colorado mountains and was a lot of fun. Now that I am a lot older I am contemplating a small rooftop tent for my jeep.

Never apologize for showing feelings. When you do so, you apologize for the truth.

My son on his first scouting camp out I refused to buy a bunch of stuff. I bought the chair, tent, head lamp and sleeping bag. He couldn’t have a knife or fire because he had not earned those two scouting privileges yet. He used a yoga mat for under his sleeping bag. He brought a small pot, wooden spoon, a cup and fork from the house. Once he earned the privileges I bought him a knife. He fished and cooked fish every night in tin foil over the fire. When I go camping I bring my mink blanket from Korea, a chair, that Coleman stove, a lantern, a pillow, tent and cooking utensils from the house. Camping doesn’t have to be expensive. One you buy it you have it.

Something I have always respected about you and your videos is how down to earth your are. Whenever I search for a video about anything related to EDC, I always look for your videos first.

That little bivvy tent...i motorcycle camp...there's a secret formula to easy setup. Leave the deflated pad, sleep bag inside the tent. Pull the poles.

Fold in and roll the whole thing up. Tie it. Done. The outer roll is a waterproof tarp anyway. Get to next site...unroll.

I really liked how you said what the stuff was, but didn't talk down about it just because it was cheep or that it's from Walmart. I think a lot of that stuff is great for people that just want to try it or are starting to get in to camping.

Talon, I have been a subscriber for years. This is one of your best videos - the planning/story, video and editing were all really well done. This video gave you a chance to interact one on one with the viewer. Nice job, really nice job.

First time I went camping I bought a tent and a cooler. Brought some blankets from home. Was such a great time! Sometimes you just gotta go!

I love all of the different types of camping. Ground tent camping was always my favorite, but with a back injury, it’s hard for me to do that now. I’m in the process of building a squaredrop trailer for my husband, son, dog and I to camp in. We’ll still be outside, except for sleeping. I’m building it very simple, and we are excited about it! Keep it up, you’re awesome!

Always nice to see a dumbed down version of what you’re channel usually has! A lot of people love to live vicariously through gear dudes on YouTube, but can’t afford to make it their own reality. At the end of the day whether you’re in a dope ass rig or a simple man’s camp setup we’re all out trying to enjoy the world!

I do a hike in, set up camp and deer hunt trip for a week every year in a National Forest in NC. I take that little light with me every year. I got it on sale for $0.99 and it's been one of the best buys I've ever made. I'm actually using it in my tent right now out in the Croatan National Forest here at a different camp site. Thanks for sharing. I started off with budget gear and have upgraded pretty much everything over the years.

Great video sir! Ramen is a great camp staple, we dress it up a little with some meat and added veggies but still a cheap, filling meal. Totally agree you can camp for "cheap" only issue is when you do it tends to not be very comfy and that turns some people away. Like a lot of people say, camping isn't about surviving is about getting out and "enjoying" the outdoors. All those negative people complaining that because you are being comfortable while you are doing it that it isn't camping, they can suck it.

The little tent has lasted me 10 days straight in full heat index of 120 and winds 35+ in Robstown tx 😆 in my back yard. The tent is still going
