Great video. Having owned a Nextbase camera for a few years, you will be regularly remounting it because the suction cup and/or adhesives provided do not stay stuck for long.

I just bought the 522GW as my first ever dashcam, getting it fitted for me next month.
One issue with this video and advice, specifically for my car, a Citroen Grand C4, is that the wind screen is HUGE and almost extends into the roof, and yet the screen wipers only reach half-way the height of the wind screen. Surely the dash cam should be fitted as high as possible, but in an area where the wiper blades can reach. Am I right?? Thanks very much for answering!!

Please make sure that if you hardwire your dashcam to the live feed to your car battery, that the 'parking' settings in the dashcam are set to ON. I had the option set to OFF and it drained the power from my car battery overnight, despite it being a new battery. Nightmare and so inconvenient until I found out what the problem was. 🤦🏾‍♀️

What do you look for when you look at dash cam holders to tell if it has all the pieces to connect to your cell phone, smart phone, or your real camera? I don't see when I look these up anything that says, this one will hold cell phones, or smart phones, or ... does this include all connectors or doesn't have this or that connector...

My rear-view mirror has a front-facing sensor (Mazda 6). Should I mount it next to the mirror instead?

Also if you have anything obscuring the swept area of the windscreen, including mobile phone mounts or dashcams, the car is liable to fail an MOT. It's also plain dumb to obscure your own vision 😂 good video. Hopefully more manufacturers follow suit and demonstrate good screen mounting technique like this!

Most states have laws prohibiting blocking the view out the windshield. Some states allow a device of a limited size in lower right corner, or a smaller size in lower left corner. Many states prohibit anything hanging from the center rear view mirror. I bought this model Nextbase 622GW but have not installed it yet. This model has very limited movement and flexibility. It must be mounted on a surface at an angle like a windshield, sloping away and down. A camera view pointing directly forward may not show details of events to the left and right. A woman riding an electric bike in the traffic lane in wrong direction rode into my car from the right. 4 Cameras. front, rear front right, front left and a 5th camera inside, cabin / driver view are needed.

If the rear view camera is meant to provide a good view of the road behind you, but the display is on the dash cam which is behind the mirror, how are you supposed to see it

Simple advice but it would have been helpful covering what the law states in the positioning of dashcams which I believe is no more than 40mm inside the area covered by the wiper blades. I only found this out after a bit of research but I feel it’s a very important bit of information that’s hardly mentioned.
