Показать описание
In this video lesson we will learn how to solve multi-step equations by isolating the variable, using distributive property to clear parentheses, combining like terms, and clearing the coefficient. We will ask ourselves how can we be sure we have solved correctly and answer this by checking each of our solutions. We will focus on the variable term(s) and how to use inverse operations to isolate the variable term. Student practice is embedded in the lesson and exemplar solutions are modeled and explained.

Common Core Math Standards
8.EE.C.7 Solve linear equations in one variable.

8.EE.C.7.A Give examples of linear equations in one variable with one solution, infinitely many solutions, or no solutions. Show which of these possibilities is the case by successively transforming the given equation into simpler forms, until an equivalent equation of the form x = a, a = a, or a = b results (where a and b are different numbers).

8.EE.C.7.B Solve linear equations with rational number coefficients, including equations whose solutions require expanding expressions using the distributive property and collecting like terms.

You are AWESOME!!!! I am currently studying for my math exam for my Math II class, and I have been struggling with multistep two-variables and linear equations and inequalities, and you have been so helpful in breaking them down step by step. Thank you for all you do! 🤗

I cannot thank you enough for this- my math teacher sprung a surprise quiz on me today and a surprise unit exam on me tomorrow. I have been struggling to pick this concept up because my teacher talks wayyy to fast and mixes me up on everything. This is a great lesson and has taught me what I needed to know in a third of the time of my class period 💗💗
