Edit: Also, gay people CAN reproduce. They’re not necessarily infertile. Plenty of lesbian couples have given birth via use of a sperm donor. Walsh is claiming that because they don’t have the kind of sex that leads to reproduction, they’re unfit parents. He’s actually arguing that one’s suitability as a parent depends on the type of consensual sex one engages in… which is insane.

I lost my mum at a pretty young age, my dad happens to be bi, but my Godmother effectively has taken on the role of being a mother figure to me, despite not actually being related to me. She's a really good family friend and I have fond memories of her taking me out when I was a kid pretty regularly and picking me up from school etc, so that's not like a traditional family but I've been fine, it's not the end of the world for non conventional families to exist. What a fucking revelation.
