Eshop is actually pretty bad. It was a downgrade from the Wii U eshop. Wii U eshop was actually pretty cool and that was a time when digital games were just taking off. I like the clean minimal UI of switch but the eshop…needs an overhaul.

My message to Nintendo is: For God's sake, use higher capacity carts so I don't have to download 80% of the friggin game. Plus the asinine habit these companies have of releasing "physical" compilations where only the 1st game is on cart and you have to download the other 2, needs to stop. It defeats the purpose of a physical release.

I think you literally answered your question at 9:23 RGT; Sony pushed for 8K branding on their PS5 to start (now gone) because they also sell TVs. Why make consoles that push for graphical fidelity? To make consumers buy new products.

Of course they can make games that run 60FPS at 720p, 1080p. It doesn’t push users to buy a 2K or 4K TV with 120Hz.

The point is - consoles are supposed to be a door to other hardware. If it doesn’t do that, what’s the point?

If the Switch 2 does have a USB-C port on top, Nintendo can invest into gimmicks as an option for the minority that wants them. Like what we got with Nintendo Labo or Mario Kart Home Circuit.

All i care is backwards comp with Switch 1 games, a console that can play more modern third-party games with performance around or better then a PS4 Pro, and to see Nintendo continue to come up with interesting first-party games for both Switch 1 and Switch 2 consoles.
