You're right, if the food is lackluster, along with the long wait time, then rate it 1 star. But if the food is good, even though you waited too long for it, it doesn't deserve one star, at least give it 3. These bad reviews over something simple like wait time are why these restaurants go out of business.

You should have someone go in first. See how they treat them. Have them order what you want. Then you come in, and taste the food. That way, you get to see how they treat the everyday person. Kinda an undercover type thing.

The first reviewer dropped their DoorDash sub because the restaurant screwed up the order? Are they unaware that these are separate operations? I feel like that person is clearly an idiot and their opinion is null and void

That’s why I weed out petty reviews when going to restaurants and hotels. People are leaving horrible reviews and not taking COVID or employee shortage into account.

THANK for the s/o to the food service industry. The other night I had a group of 5 ask me what was taking so long after standing there for 10 mins. I said “it’s a bit busy” one of them said “this is busy???” so I smiled and said “yeah I’m actually a medical assistant that hasn’t worked here in 6 months but they needed help bc only 3 servers wanted to work and 4 called out, so it’s a tad bit busy but I’ll take your drink orders now if you’d like ” it’s just super frustrating. Some people are literally just doing the best they can

That's why I like daymuns he knows sometimes they will try too make the food better because it's him. But he says they need too take care of all they customers not just him. That's why he's the best. 💯

Daym a lot of the people I know who worked for restaurants aren't just sitting at home collecting unemployment. After they got fired last year they moved on to other jobs and they have no intentions on going back. Wait staff have been told for years if they don't like their pay go and get a better job and people are mad that those workers finally listened. Restaurants are being forced to pay people a liveable wage so that they don't have to rely on tips just to get by.

Unfortunately many people who go out recently aren’t very understanding of these tumultuous times. Don’t forget many places are being overwhelmed with take-out orders which does increase the wait for patrons dining inside

I went to 3 different TGIFs in the last 2 months. Hands down I haven’t gotten food like his lol. They gave him food and service like no TGIF has ever provided to any of us. That server spoke to that cook and gave the cook a come to JESUS moment.

I 100% agree with you. Too many people have this "Me, me, me" thought process going on. Too impatient. A restaurant should be rated on the quality of the food, not the time the food took unless it gets into a ridiculous wait, where you are there for an hour and no food. A restaurant should be rated on the cleanliness of the establishment and how well they are taking care of it. And finally on the quality of the service. Did they get your order right, were they polite and treat you like a guest should be treated.

I agree with you on not trashing restaurants on Yelp just because of wait times and minor things like that, but the restaurant industry is lacking workers right now bc people are tired of not being paid a living wage. That's something the restaurant industry needs to fix.

My personal opinion is that you’ll get good service especially when you have a camera on the table and filming. I believe if you went without the setup on the table and was more hidden the experience maybe different. Props to bringing back the series and the Netflix show is 🔥
