I know this is an old video.
However, if anyone wants to try something different with the LP’s
(Or use them on longer ultras)

Inov-8 sells the boomerang footbeds separately and throwing them in LP’s essentially gives them a turbo charger.

Comfortable for longer efforts and with a lot more bounce.

Totally agree with what you said about the Olympus, now the trails and woodlands are wet and boggy during autumn here in the UK the mud just seems to stick to them. I’ve considered going Inov-8 X-Talon Ultra 260 just for the winter months, although going from a zero up to a 8mm drop does concern me a little.

I had a similar issue in the heel area, turned out to be a weak tibialis posterior. If your feet point slightly outward then it could be that as it puts more torsion into it. Very easy to sort with a resistance bands

Having spent 18 months in the UK, I have to say that a rhubarb and custard gel sounds awesome. Will probably be impossible to find one in the states, but I'm going to look! 🤣
Something about that zero drop just takes away the pain for me as well. Tried a 5mm drop, as you know, but it just didn't work out. Back in some zero drop shoes and the knee and foot pain is gone. Zero drop magic!

I love the way I run in the lp5, only downside to them which is a big one is they are very slippy on wet rock, got injured in the lakes up a mountain because of that a few months ago, wish they had vibrams megagrip like the olympus

I'm really glad I found your channel, some great videos and really well edited. I found it last night when searching for "Altra Lone Peak 5" as I have just bought some. I'm not the best runner but wanted some trail shoes, these are my first zero drop ones and wasn't sure whether to keep them or not. I'm planning on doing my own video on the Altra's documenting how I find going from "normal" shoes to these ones, especially for someone like myself who usually wears stability trainers. Keep up the great work!
