i have a 70-200mm f/2.8l is ii usm and i shoot surf photography with that, if i add that would it work fine on the photo quality?

fun fact - at times, you're better off just doing the crop in Photoshop and then applying some smart resampling.  the optical quality hit you get with the 2X is about the same as what upsampling does.  Matt Granger did a test (using a HOT subject) and the results are surprising.

I noticed that the eagle wasn't sharp at 400 mm . Any comment on the colour fringing issue ? Please also make a video on cheaper teleconverters, for eg; kenko or some other brand.

Excellent video, and I share your thoughts on this. This is clearly something I wouldn't buy. The price, the compatibility and the light loss make too much cons for me to even consider using it.

Compared to a $2k Canon 70-200 2.8 it's clearly nothing though. It makes your pricy lens a bit more versatile for nothing really heavy in the bag. It's the real pro I can see, as you mentioned it.

For the price of both I'd rather buy a Tamron 70-200 f2.8 and a Tamron 150-600mm. Also, you're talking about the Canon EF 70-300 L I guess, and since it's already a f5.6 at the end, I'm curious to know what the the final aperture is with the extender. It would be something like f8 ? It's pretty terrible :D

If you have now a 140 to 400mm 5.6 - how does it compare against 70-300 4.0 to 5.6 on a crop sensor camera? Shouldn't be much difference...

hi your figures do not make any sense. 2x 200= 400 x 1.6 crop = 640mm

Using 2x extenders on ANY zoom isn't recommended.
