With 80D and now 6D2, with the 100-400LII and the 1.4X teleconverter you get 560mm while keeping 27 autofocus points at f8... so there's that to consider as well. Perhaps worth an update on the video.

please i need help i have 5d mark iii with 70-200 is2 2.8 i need to shoot soccer games at night and i dont have enoght zoom can i buy the 2x and still get good images ?

Hi Tony & Chelsea, thank you very much for this quick review, sweet & to the point. Just one additional question, did the focusing also worked as well with the 70-200 + 2X teleconverter? Since you guys didn't bring it up, I'm assuming focusing was about equally fast and accurate.

I am in the process of deciding between these for a trip at the end of the year, however I have both a 5d3 and 7d2 and would like to know if the 70-200+TC would still be as good as the 100-400II on a crop sensor...

Can you guys do the same test with the new Sony G Master 70-200mm & G Master 100-400mm? And maybe comparing sharpness with these Canon lenses.
