I think a Geology-heavy approach would be cool, as most space-youtubers are merely interested in getting to mars, as opposed to the actual research done on it.

1. Biogenic sediments on Mars: which sediments (e.g. in Jezero Crater) would be indicative of past or present life?

2. Why has Jezero Crater been picked as landing site, why is it significant for Exobiology?

I'm so glad Luke is doing more space content now. Almost all the locations on Mars have Latin names too, so it's a perfect topic for this channel.

Lol, you just reminded me of a cool thing that happened recently. A friend of mine told me about the latest SpaceX news on a rocket and so I told him what I knew too. Turns out I knew quite a lot more than he did about it. And he told me "Why is someone learning Ancient Greek and Latin this much interested in space exploration? You even know more than me! "(He's studying physics/astrophysics). And so I answered "Well, everyone loves space! Especially people who know ancient Greek and Latin!" 😂😂😂

Perseverance's drone reminds me of Leonardo Da Vinci's "helicopter" drawing.

Haha, I even got my "passport" for the 2026 mission on their site. I think it's a good idea talking about the planets. Some planets and their regions might have names worth explaining the ethymology too.

You should help them name things on Mars....they need more Latin and Greek names 👍🏽

Sententia optima! (to make some videos about Mars) Multum mihi placet!
The two things I'm most interested in:
1. the mythological history of Mars
2. Mars' representation in literature (just bought Bradbury's "The Martian Chronicles" and McDonald's "Desolation Road" has been on my reading list for a long time)

Have you read any science-fiction about Mars?

I was in junior high school when the Viking mission was sent to Mars. Viking 1 was supposed to land on July 4th, 1976. On that day, the TV news reported that the landing had to be postponed because the initial landing site that had been chosen turned out to have too rough a terrain to make a landing there possible. I was watching this at my friend's house, along with his parents. His mother blurted out, "My God! If they'd landed that thing on a Martian city and killed a bunch of Martians, they'd come to Earth and wipe us all out!" It's amazing what some people hear when they're spoken to! My friend just looked at his mother and told her to her face that she was crazy.

Hi Luke,
Maybe not what you were looking for in the way of suggestions, but I'd be interested to hear about historical beliefs about Mars and its magical / occult / mantic significance.

No matter what you say about it I'm sure you'll make it interesting! Very excited

A small, small trivia of this awesome event, the rover landed in a crater named after a small village in Bosnia, named Jezero, meaning lake in most south slavic languages, so it technically landed in Lake, on top of a former lake. Just a tiny tidbit :) NASA and JPL, continue to kick ass!

Just like a Roman soldier pushing the frontier, so do we.

You could....
Remind everyone why space travel is important
Explain the improvements in Mars landers over the years
Talk about the planetary orbits/timing and why that matters for going to Mars

I've been watching NASA live channel just until a few moments. I've been waiting for this moment since a couple of months ago when it was launched, and I'm still amazed by this wonderful achievement.
Now, before I go to bed (which I should have done a few hours ago, but I just couldn't... 😜), I decided to change a bit and watch something else, and I find a new video of one of my favorite channels talking about the landing 😃
Who could resist? And who would want to? 😏
