A group of Greenpeace activists arrested following an anti-oil protest on the roof of Rishi Sunak’s constituency manor house have been released while inquiries continue, police have said.

North Yorkshire Police, who have come under criticism following the security breach at the Prime Minister’s grade II-listed mansion in Kirby Sigston on Thursday, said their investigation “remains ongoing”.

The campaigners draped his home with an oil-black fabric to protest against the Government’s plans to allow licences to be granted for further development of North Sea oil and gas.

It's all theatre, to keep people away from what is really happening.

Absolutely shocking they should have been held on remand until their trial and then sent down for a minimum of 5 years

How did the protesters manage to carry all that equipment on foot?

one thing you can always rely on labour for, being out of touch with ordinary people, i think it comes from them being infested with minority viewpoints

Call for an investigation into how the PM's security was breached, but nothing about the corrupt oil contracts and licenses he is issuing! As the world is dying and running out of resources this short sighted view will ultimatetly be our downfall. I am getting old and have no children, so it doesn't really matter to me. But if you have kids and a family, then surely their future is just as important as ours was!

I'm sure those Geeks are secretly being back-rolled by the oil industry simply because their behaviour is driving the public against their cause!

I hope part of their bail conditions are that if they are arrested again they will face an automatic jail sentence of 12 months

Shows the state of police departments in general. They can't provide security to PM's home what kind of protection the public will receive is 🙁questionable.

What? So I can trespass on someone else’s property, sit on their roof and get out of jail? What’s next, we can start going inside people’s houses too?

This is fair, if Rishi thinks we can get to Net Zero by extracting more oil and gas (that we will hardly benefit from) then he deserves this. JSO should glue their bare a-holes to his windows.

This is unacceptable. where were the security, and how they by passed it? someone from the inside was working with them. This needs big investigation. They could have been terrorists CATCH THE SECURITY MOLE.
Action like this demand prison and heavy fines.

he certainly should have cctv and alarms for protection whilst away and further protection in residence, these eco idiots should not be able to access so easily and if they try then the penalty must be severe
