Since its been 5 months ago, I'm wondering if Viltrox fixed the autofocus on this 27mm lens.

Great content! I just got the Viltrox 75mm f1.2 and the 27mm f1.2 a few weeks ago. At the same time i got a Fujifilm XF 18mm f 1.4. I have tested all 3 on some portrait shoots and I think they will be my wedding trio and as a backup i have the 17-70mm Tamron f2.8, a great zoom lens for video and photo.

The 33 1.4 gives you that 3d pop. Just feels like the image is cropped in compared to my 35 gm

I paired the Viltrox 23mm 1.4 with my Fuji XT30 I found it way too heavy for the camera body size and on a streetwalk far too hefty for comfort. It was not as easy to pass on used as you might think. Lenses are quality though.

totally agree with your observations. I now own the 13/1.4, the 27/1.2 and the 75/1.2 which are all fantastic.
As a returning Fujifan I'm now building two kits, one for portraiture, weddings, events etc. and the other one for traveling and light weight fun tours.

I had the Fuji 27mm F/2.8.... Hated the FOV, so I'm not getting this :)
It is great that 3rd party manufacturers are releasing such good glass.

On Sunday I did a Studio shoot with my X-T3 and only used Sigma Glass (the 56mm F/1.4 DC DN, and the Brand new 23mm F/1.4 DC DN) both me and the client are really happy with the results both lenses are sharp where they need to be and the transition between in focus and out of focus is so smooth, similar to the Fuji xf35mm F/1.4. Granted was in the studio and almost all shots were at F/4, this was my first shoot without any Fuji glass but wont be my last.

Very hard to justify £2000 for the XF56mm F/1.2 WR and XF23mm F1/4 WR, when Sigma and others are othering good glass at half the price that is almost as good if not better in some cases

Glad you did another review on this! I don’t know if it’s just me but if you pair it with film recipes with grain, I feel like the grain looks more pronounced compared to the shots I take with a fuji lens. Definitely gives a different vibe to the photos

I was weighing between this lens and XF33mm, and ended up buying this lens two months ago. This lens lives on my X-T5 ever since. But sometimes I still wonder if I should get another XF33mm for to the size/weight factors?

I have the Viltrox 75 f1.2 for Sony and it’s fantastic. I would really like the 27f1.2 for E mount. Your excellent review confirms I need to wait. Viltrox please, please, please make an E mount version.
