Asbury University started a 24/7 revival meeting drawing 50,000+ people into this small Kentucky town just to pray. This has been going on for the past 13+ days. The fact that this hasn't garnered intense media coverage is shocking.

I spent a year at Asbury. I still live nearby. The main reason for the lack of media coverage is because the university deliberately turned down requests for major media figures to make appearances. They said that they didn’t want to politicize the revival.

My dad was at the revival in the 70s. I’ve been at this one. There is absolutely a higher cause at Asbury. It’s worshiping and existing in the love of God. Nothing is bigger than that relationship.

I volunteer at a national park near my home. A Korean lady that visited the park yesterday said she was returning to Nashville after participating in the Asbury revival. She said it was the most spiritual uplift that she'd ever experienced.
The lady said she'd served as a missionary in Ukraine and had returned to the US just prior to the invasion by Russia. She'll be returning within the next two months.
I'm not being flippant, but this woman is giving her time and risking life for the betterment of fellow people. She can certainly use prayers of safety and support.

It was great. I drove the 5 hours from Alabama and it was a moving spiritual experience. It was quiet, solemn, respectful, ....the lines at all 5 buildings was 4+ hours and I physically couldnt stand that long, so I camped in front of the jumbtron in wet messy dirt, cold blustery weather, beating sun and 40 minute line for the 7 porta potties. I sum it as a quiet personal time of reflection, prayer and repentance. There were no vendors hocking shameless products, no loud or rowdy/rude people- just random people holding hands and praying for other random people....food trucks offered free snacks, hot drinks and water. There was no parking anywhere in the town, we parked in ditches, behind dumpsters, along the road and plenty of illegally parking. Whatever the cost, it was worth it...to me and to thousands of others.

Be you religious or not (or a different religion), it is an absolutely beautiful thing because this is 50, 000 people, in 2023, setting down differences in politics, personal life, etc...and just praying together. It is a deep kind of unity on a mass scale. It is getting no mainstream attention BECAUSE it's not divisive.
