1 1/2 cup warm water
1 packet dry yeast
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp melted butter
4 cups flour
coarse salt to sprinkle
2/3 cup baking soda
Combine warm water, yeast and sugar. Set aside for 5 minutes.
Add 2 cups of flour, melted butter and salt. Mix little by little with the remaining flour.
Knead well. Add 2 or 3 tbsp of water if the dough is dry.
Transfer dough to a large oiled bowl and cover with plastic.
Wait 40 minutes or until doubled in size.
Divide dough into small pieces then roll. Form an U shape then twist the tips twice.
Loop the twisted tip down to form a pretzel shape.
Boil 2.5L of water and add 2/3 cup of baking soda in boiling water.
Add pretzels in one at a time for 30 seconds.
Place pretzels on a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Brush a beaten egg and sprinkle coarse salt.
Bake at 450F for 12 minutes.
Serve with your favorite dip sauce. I recommend cheese sauce. Enjoy!
