I love how despite how emotionless Piter is, his expression screams "Alright fine, damn."

The Voice really lacks power outside of a theater, the negative pressure the low bass makes it crazy to experience.

Fun fact : this animal is a native species to Australia.

To be honest this was one of the best villain pet ever. And again i see massive influence from Giger.

Remember, there are no aliens nor artificial intelligences in Dune

It’s even scarier when you realize there are no ➡️(𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓)⬅️ aliens in the dune universe. Meaning that thing was once human.

Creature: Fine, I got an audition for Bloodborne anyway.

I doubt the creature is Dr. Yuehs wife (though this would shed some new light on the Harkonnens ability for creepiness). The Baron was shown to stick precisely to his word : He insisted that letting the desert kill Paul and Jessica would quality as "not having harmed them himself". It seems logical the Baron would keep his promise to Dr. Yueh the same way. Reuniting him with his already murdered wife : Kill the Doctor. Reuniting him with a genetically altered wife would have meant for the Doctor to undergo the same transformation. (Also : Showing a tortured/mutilated Bene Gesserit to the revered mother and expecting her not to notice would have been a really dumb move on the Barons part).

It " *understands* " because it was once human.

Imagine trying to lie to the Emperor’s truthsayer.

Hope Charlotte Rampling has more scenes in part 2 and Dune: Messiah.

She's a phenomenal actress - she has an aura about her in a lot of her roles. Very similar to Vanessa Redgrave and something which a lot of good actresses lack. She more than deserved her Oscar nomination for 45 years.

That throwaway remark "It understamds" was sharp. She knows the creature is some Tlielaxu abomination deliberately brought out by the Harkonnens for the meeting.

She nailed it, Like when a person is sick and tired of BS from a spouse and the "mother in law is standing right there.

Casting her as mohiam was perfect. Actually the casting for this movie in general was on point.

Villenueve finished the movie, reviewed the footage with all its straightforward story and plot, and at the last minute thought maybe just ONE little quick tribute to Lynch and Jodorowsky to keep things weird."

Charlotte Rampling's delivery on the line "get out" is perfect. Barely lets Piter finish his sentence.

Establishes House Harkonnen's total depravity and Reverend Mother's badass formidability. I suddenly want to go sit in a very well-lit room.

I love the subtle expression of “Just so” that washes across Pyter's face when she says that it understands. I really wish there was more of him in part one. The actor was great.

I loved how we got this scene for free, it had no bearing on the plot except to show that the Harkonnens are sadistic Bastards. But we already know that so the rev mother is just like “Get that nasty fucking thing out of here. I don’t even want to know what it is I don’t want to see it.”

I believe this is inspired by a very rare early edition cover artwork for Chapterhouse Dune. My dad used to read it out loud to me as a “bedtime story” when I was very young and I remember the cover had the very faint image of a human-headed spider with glowing eyes in the background that was kind of hard to see unless you stared at the cover for a minute. What’s strange though is that to my knowledge, there isn’t anything like that in the text of Chapterhouse, unless I missed it completely. It’s been many years so I can’t remember.
