Plant and Water Relations

Procedure:
1. Prepare two glasses.
2. Fill each glass with 300 mL of distilled water. Add five tablespoons of salt to one of the two glasses and stir.
3. Label the two glasses (distilled water, salt solution). Slice a large potato into French fry-like pieces.
4. Make sure the slices are of the same size.
5. Observe the slices of potato before placing them in the two glasses.
6. Place half of the potato slices in the glass with distilled water.
7. Place the remaining slices in the glass with a salt solution.
8. Let them sit overnight. Remove the potato slices from the glasses the next day.
9. Make your final observations.
