i don't have downs syndrome but i am autistic and i honestly love the down synderome girl song and episode. even with the rude comments typical of any family guy episode ever about anyone, stewie and chris treat her like anyone else in their world, and i absolutely love that the biggest part of her character has NOTHING to do with disability. she's just a bitch, like any other bitch, and i love the way they portrayed that.

To be fair, the actress who voiced Ellen had Down Syndrome (she was a pretty well-known actress), and she thought the episode was funny - she said what was actually offensive was Sarah Palin (the politician being mentioned not by name in this episode, for you youngsters) carrying her son who had Down Syndrome around on the campaign trail as a prop to get votes. Andrea Friedman was a smart woman who did a lot to further people's image of people with DS as capable.
