Bale made that run after having run for an hour. Truly impressive what these soccer players do

He doesn't even mention Bob Hayes, the only man to own an Olympic Gold and a Super Bowl Championship. He was so fast teams had to invent the zone defence because no one man could cover him.

Alphonso Davies reached 22.7 mph earlier this year at only 20 years of age. He is most definitely going to beat Bales top speed record. Not to mention Davies accelerates much faster than Bale ever has.

Wilt Chamberlain was incredibly fast, despite being huge: "As a Kansas track and field athlete, Wilt ran a sub-eleven second 100m, a forty-nine second 400m in “baggy sweats”, and a 1:58.3 second 800m. All while being a 7’1” Goliath of a man."

Actually the fastest time ever was in 1996 I was doing something I wasn't supposed to be doing and the cops were chasing me but that time was never really actually official.

Awesome video as always!
—Darrell Green 4.09 in 1986 at Redskins training camp . He celebrated his 50th bday by running a 4.43 in the 40. As a college student he ran a 10.08 in the 100m dash. His speed in the field was insane as he chased down Dickerson and Dorsett.
—Bo Jackson 4.12 in 40
—“Bullett” Bob Hayes ran and won the olympics with a then world record of 10.06. Also was a part of world record 39.06 4x1 relay. He was the first man ever recorded to break the 10 second barrier in the 100 with a wind aided time of 9.91.
Can’t have a conversation about speed in NFL without Hayes being included.
Honorable mention ..Chris Johnson (4.22), Joey Galloway(4.18), Ahman Green (4.17), Alexander Wright (4.15) RG3 (48.8 second 400m hurdler in high school) + Jeff Demps who briefly played for steelers and Gators who was around a 10 flat 100m runner.

As an aside, my father-in-law was a season ticket holder for the Oakland A's. It was during the time where they would open up the park three hours before the game. One time during warm ups Ricky Henderson and Jose Canseco were racing against each other running from foul pole to foul pole. Those two brutes were not playing around. Ricky would have Jose in the first few steps and pull ahead, but, at about 50 yards Jose would pull even and then pull away. After two of these Ricky was fuming. He had to beat Jose, after all, he was Ricky Henderson. Tony LaRussa had had enough and yelled out, "you two assholes knock that shit off, I don't want you two to pull a hamstring."

Piquing my interest with this one, I LOVE running, but other sports you get to chase that ball! I like how you break it down with acceleration vs top-end speed, my guess is Ricky pulls home the baseball award?!? Man, I wish I was faster at accelerating, we distance runners can dream right!

As a life long football fan, i can tell you know that there have been MANY people that were recorded faster than Bale...Robben ran a 40 km/h sprint in the 2014 world cup against Spain, Mbappé has had MULTIPLE 38 km/h sprints, Alphonso Davies and Adama Traore have both also clocked in at over 37 km/h...the one that is the "unoffical" record holder is Terens Puhiri, who ran at an almost GOD LIKE SPEED, but the sprint was never measured, you can find the clip of it on YT by searching his name

I’m pretty sure Bob Hayes was faster then Bo Jackson, Bobs 4 by 1 anchor leg of 8.60 on a Cinder Track, and still beating his competitor is insane!

You're wrong about who was the fastest person in football. Bo had a lot of myths about his quantitative but one that is easily disprovable is definitely the 40yd dash. Bo Jackson ran track and field in college and his best 100m was 10.44s. It's a good time but there are high school athletes that regularly beat that time in their senior year every single year. Bob Hayes on the other hand was a legitimate NFL football player and ran in the olympics. His personal best time was 9.9 seconds in 1964 which if anyone knows the sprints, is worlds apart from Bo Jacksons 10.44.
