How to Jailbreak Your PS Vita & PSTV on Firmware 3.74 - Permanent HENkaku Ensō CFW & More!

The PS Vita is an awesome handheld worth revisiting, but what truly unlocks the greatness of this console is the power of homebrew. This tutorial will go through the process of taking any PlayStation Vita console on firmware 3.74 and modifying it with HENlo with the goal of launching third party homebrew, games, applications, and more. This also goes through the process of downgrading to firmware 3.65 with the awesome coldbooting HENkaku Ensō! All of this is made infinitely easier thanks to VitaDeploy, and at the end we also cover HENkaku settings as well as future plugin setup with AutoPlugin.

The end-goal here being a successfully downgraded, coldbooting, modified Vita with a few starter plugins as well as pieces of homebrew to create a solid foundation for using the Vita. All the heavy lifting of the modification process itself is covered here while further recommendations and improvements are available in additional videos. Be sure to look in the "Additional Vita Videos" section of this description for more!

If anyone with a 1000 series vita had problems getting the "create internal memory card" to work, I would follow the written guide linked above, under the section "creating an internal memory card". After selecting the "defualt 2xxx storage configuration and rebooting the vita, you have to go your settings, down to 'format', to 'format memory card' and then make sure that only the 1gb size one is selected. Accept all the disclaimers that pop up, and then the system will reboot itself. At this point, you can go verify in the settings that it now has 1 gb storage. I got stuck because I didn't do this, and i didn't get any prompts to format a memory card.

Sir, me and my brothers have watched all of your videos for jailbreaking ever since we first tried jailbreaking (and successfully) the PS3, you make everything so simple and easy. Inshallah when me and my wife have a kid, I can teach them this very same thing.

For anyone reading this, THIS is the way to do it. It was simple, easy, fast, and saved my PS Vita after I enabled auto boot and all my files got corrupted regardless of rebuilding the database. Go this route! Especially first timers!

I got a broken ps vita from cash converters (oled 3g model) for 50 euros, the charge port was broken, and i have installed a micro usb connector instead of replacing this proprietary connector, it lives on the top now where the accessories port used to be (it wasn't used for anything anyway), i replaced the battery with a 3300mAh samsung smartphone battery, i replaced the mushy feeling shoulder buttons for nice clicky ones and i have 256gb of storage on my vita which is more than enough for me. I have this vita now for about 2 years and i love this thing! It can play the games i want, it can emulate all the consoles from my youth! I own a switch, but i always grab the ps vita just because it is so awesome! I have a soft spot for this console, and with the quality of life improvements i have made on my initially broken ps vita (which is working fine ever since, i can do everything over micro usb what the og cable can do) it is the ultimate oled ps vita!

Thank you so much. Kept trying to get Adrenaline running and lamented the terrible experience I'd have trying to connect it to my PC AGAIN just to downgrade. Had no idea there was a downgrader included in my CFW

Fished my PSTV out the drawer recently and caused some issues trying to get 8bit controllers working. As always there’s a MrMario guide to help me go back to a clean hacked system. :D
Sold my Vita 1000 recently, but the PSTV is just so small/nice.

This tutorial is a work of art. Just got a broken vita fixed (water damage to left ctl board and main flex, just a $20 fix). Anyways, I have never used a vita and I just hacked this one in real time to your video! I had to pause a couple of times, but often your timing was perfect where you would talk and then pick back up right when my vita was completing the previous step. Such an incredibly good video! Thanks for making these! This tutorial is still 100% flawless (for the 2000 series that I own, at least)!

I tried doing it but the Henkaku menu doesn't display in the setting option after installing it. Have this happened to somebody?

Something important i noticed. If you have slow connection and automatic sleep is lower than the downloading time, it will freeze the console and you have to reboot and redo this process
